The bench press is an upper body strength training exercise that consists of pressing a weight upwards from a supine position. The exercise works the pectoralis major as well as supporting chest, arm, and shoulder muscles such as the anterior deltoids, seratus anterior coracobrachialis, scapulae fixers, triceps etc. A barbell is generally used to hold the weight, but a pair of dumbbells can also be used.
There are lots of benefits to enjoy such as:
- Maximum overload the chest muscles
- Build muscle mass on your upper body
- Increase push strength
- It helps in firming your muscles, and build the size
- It gives you general fitness
The bench uses your shoulders, triceps, forearms, lats, and pecs, traps, rhomboids, and pretty much every muscle in your upper body. However, the bench press doesn't JUST use your upper body.
Incline Bench Press is an excellent exercise for building the upper part of the chest, which many people have a problem with. It recruits a lot of the upper muscles, and a lot of the shoulder muscles at the same time. It's an excellent exercise to do, and it is something spectacular.
